Riley Monkey

Riley opened a lemonade stand that only accepted IOUs written in crayon. The first customer offered a real dollar. Riley frowned, handed the dollar back, and slid over a stubby blue crayon. The customer wrote I owe you one cup of bravery. Riley poured lemonade like a sommelier, garnished it with a leaf from the yard, and filed the IOU in a shoebox labeled the federal reserve of maybe. By afternoon the box was full of doodles, dinosaurs, and one very sincere drawing of a monkey counting coins. Riley had no cash and a lot of lemonade on his shirt. He declared the day a roaring success and paid himself in ice cubes.
